Uncle Eddie and Robin at Blue Moon in Rockland

Uncle Eddie At Blue MoonOn Saturday, May 17th, the Blue Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland features the sounds of West Virginia bluegrass with “Uncle Eddie and Robin.” Coming all the way from West Virginia and bringing with them an authentic West Virginia sound, Uncle Eddie and Robin are a dynamic musical duet with a taste of the old and a flair for the new. This husband-wife team creates tight harmonies on songs that pack a punch. Banjo player Ed Mahonen incorporates elements of bluegrass and folk, shaping them into an original blend which he terms “plunk rock.” West Virginia’s “Graffiti” Magazine said Ed has been “a force in West Virginia music for over thirty years.” With a political consciousness and a flair for incorporating new styles, Uncle Eddie and Robin are the perfect combo of old and new West Virginia. Between sets, there will be an open mic. Tickets are $7 at the door; children 12 and under are free. The address is Channing Church, 45 Webster St. Rockland.
