Former school committeeman Paul J. Schubert won the top seat in the Cohasset elections in a three-way race.  He outscored his nearest opponent by almost 300 votes. Unfortunately, Peter Pescatore and Martha Gjesteby appealed to many of the same voters.

Most of the advertising appeared on Facebook Pages and blogs, if it appeared at all. There were exactly three campaign ads in Mariner Newspapers. Paul Schubert placed two ads. Lynn A. Doxey, unsuccessful candidate for the Board of Health placed the third ad.

Another year has passed.

Mark DeGiacomo predicted this on “Our Town”:

Although there is strong support for acting police chief Bill Quigley, the Board of Selectmen will not veto the Town Manager’s choice for Police Chief.

There is hope for a Prolonged Peace.

Publisher’s note: the selection of the police chief will not be on the Selectmen’s meeting agenda until the May 19th meeting.
