Southern Rail at Hingham’s Coffeehouse off the Square

stumpDec18

Southern Rail is a vibrant, engaging, Boston-based, Appalachian-rooted Bluegrass and Gospel group that returns for another concert of Glorious Christmas Gospel. Led by Jim Muller on mandolin and Sharon Horovitch on bass, these Boston First Night favorites continue to stir listeners with their musicianship, spirit, energy, humor and good will. Their music is exuberant fun with riveting harmonies, irreverent humor and sparkling banjo and mandolin solo work. Sharon and Jim on and their colleagues are always a pleasure to hear whether on their new CDs “Live at the Linden Tree” or “On the Road from Appomattox” or, even better, in person at the Coffeehouse. With luck we may hear the Appalachian carols “Mary Did You Know?” or “Jesus, Jesus, Rest Your Head.” Come celebrate the season with Southern Rail.
