Brings 24 years of teaching experience to SSC
HINGHAM and BRIGHTON, MA Issued September 22, 2014… South Shore Conservatory (SSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Lodzsun as the new SSC Preschool Director. Although the title implies Lodzsun is in charge of only the preschool, in her position she will provide leadership for SSC’s arts-based preschool, pre-k and kindergarten programs. Lodzsun replaces outgoing director Carol Forbes Scheig who held the position for over 35 years.
Previously, Susan worked in the Danbury (CT) Public School system for 24 years, many of those as the Early Childhood Services Coordinator for the Head Start Program. Prior to her Head Start years, she worked in many different types of early childhood settings with infants, toddlers and preschool-age children. She is very excited to be working in an arts-based environment.
“Music and the arts have always been a very integral part of my personal and professional life,” says Lodzsun, whose father was a musician and a teacher. “What could be more wonderful than being surrounded by the sound of music and the joyful noise and laughter of children!”
SSC Director of Programs and Curriculum Su D’Ambrosio was excited to have found such a wonderful mix of directing experience and arts appreciation in one qualified candidate. “Susan, with 17 years of experience in the Head Start program, brings a wonderful combination of experience in administration as well as in the classroom,” says D’Ambrosio. “She has also demonstrated a strong appreciation for the arts and their important role in early childhood education.”
