The Scituate Arts Association offers a presentation by Marshfield artist Maureen K Brookfield at October session of the SAA’s Meet the Artist Series on Wednesday the 15th. Maureen is a professional watercolor artist and illustrator. She will be sharing some of her paintings and an overall view of the process of illustrating children’s books, showing the steps from initial sketches to finished illustrations and books.
Maureen Brookfield is a representational watercolor artist and has been drawing and painting since she was a child in England. For years, while raising her family, she continued to pursue her love of art and enhance her natural ability by studying and taking workshops with prominent and nationally known artists. Formal studies and Fine Art studio work also included New York’s Parsons School of Design and the Art Center of Northern New Jersey. Although Brookfield has painted in other mediums, watercolor is her first choice. She delights in what happens when the paint hits the paper. She is a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NYC, a Juried Art Member of Academic Artists, the South Shore Art Association, Cape Cod Art Association and the Plymouth Art Guild.
Her presentation will be held on Wednesday, October 15 from 7 to 9 pm in the Scituate Public Library’s Meeting Room.
