Former Cohasset Town Manager Mike Coughlin celebrates a bittersweet birthday today, as he recuperates from a recent stroke at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Charlestown.
On June 4 Mike was taking a drive with his new puppy, Dublin, when he felt his right arm going numb. He immediately returned home and Bernadette drove him to Mass General, where during a Cat scan he felt his entire right side go numb. Essentially, he was having a “slow” stroke and happened to be in very capable hands when it came upon him.
Mike says Rehab is worse than boot camp, as his works to train his nerves do simple things such as opening a tube of toothpaste.
