Coughlin deposing Cohasset officials

Coughlin Lawsuit heats up

In answer to many questions to this blog about the Coughlin lawsuit against the town.

Former Cohasset town manager Mike Coughlin is now in the process of deposing town officials and former town officials of Cohasset. We have learned that people deposed to date have been Select Chair Diane Kennedy and former selectman Ted Carr.

Former chairman of the water commission and former capital budget member Peter DeCaprio is being deposed by Coughlin today: (9/25/14).

Coughlin’s suit is a whistleblower suit and it revolves around the alleged “insistent push DeCaprio made, as former chairman of the water commission, to be heavily involved in, and supportive of a proposal to sell water rates owned by the Town of Cohasset to a large privately owned water company which had ties to a hedge fund operated by Mr. DeCaprio, thereby creating an apparent conflict of interest in violation of the Massachusetts Ethics Laws.”
