Singing Group looks for new members
The Choral Art Society of the South Shore, now in its 56th season, begins rehearsals for its fall concert on Tuesday, September 9th and 16th at 7:30—9:30 pm at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate.
Prospective new members are welcome to join. The Choral Art Society is a non-auditioned community chorus. We need voices for all parts – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The ability to read music is not essential, but is helpful. You do need to be able to “carry a tune in a bucket.” If you are not sure of your singing abilities, our director can help you determine your voice part. All members grow in musical ability and learn a great deal about healthy vocal technique and choral music.
On December 7th at 4:00pm we will perform “Here We Come A-Caroling”, which will feature Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, accompanied by harp, and Conrad Susa’s Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest, accompanied by instrumental ensemble, and other festive carols, and our ever-popular sing along.
We hope you will stay with us for the spring season, when we perform with full orchestra and professional soloists celebrating our Artistic Director and Conductor’s Danica Buckley’s 10th anniversary with us! We’ll be singing Puccini’s Mass for Four Voices and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.
Come be a part of a friendly, wonderful, exciting, growing community chorus!
