“Martin and Susanne make beautiful and compelling music together. Multi-instrumentalist Martin is one of roots music’s “best kept secrets” while Susanne complements his stunning, understated instrumental work and soulful singing with her rock solid rhythm, distinctive harmonies and powerful lead vocals” according to Andy Wallace, former program director of the National Folk Festival. www.http://martingrosswendt.com.
Next, the Hammonds combine exemplary dulcimer and guitar playing, great voices and a broad, adventurous repertory. As others have said “Lorraine is considered among the country’s best and most innovative dulcimer players. Bennett is a deceptively inventive finger style guitarist – deceptive because however inventive or finger stretching his playing is, it is sublimely melodic -the two embrace the calm grace of the music.” New England Folk Almanac. And, they are a “…dazzling, witty, eclectic delightful duo” according to the Boston Globe.
